Our Studies in Major Authors: Jane Austen class held a picnic tea party showcasing the complexity of Regency-era manners in Austen's Emma--complete with homemade berry scones, wax-sealed invitations, and gossip cards. It was a beautiful sunny day and the scones were delightful! Here are some photos from the class.

A large gathering of students sit outside on picnic blankets, smiling for the camera while they each show a mug or teacup in their hands.

Everyone brought a teacup or mug to enjoy tea in.

The party included wax sealed invitations and notes on Austen-era etiquette.

The class discussed Austen on the lawn and enjoyed the beginning of spring.
